A 6-year-old girl who found “a toy” diamond ring in a Wal-Mart parking lot has helped put a smile back on a nervous Benton newlywed with her missing $9,000 engagement ring. After losing her 1.26-carat diamond ring at a Bryant Wal-Mart on Tuesday, Haley Reep Wagnon reported it missing, and Bryant police reviewed Wal-Mart’s surveillance videos and noticed a young girl seemed to pick up the ring.
“I saw a little girl pick up the ring in the parking lot, but I don’t think the girl was trying to steal the ring and I don’t think the family with her was even aware,” Bryant police Detective Todd Crowson said. “She probably didn’t even know that it is a real ring.” In fact, the way she treated it proved so.
Local law enforcement were able to identify the family’s vehicle and were able to determine which Saline County dealership sold it to them. From there, they were able to use their mad detective skills to find out the truck was registered to a Michael Wheaton of Bryant.
“I received a call about a young lady losing a ring and a little girl picking it up, and I said, ‘OK, you’ve got my attention,’” Wheaton said. “I came down to the station and when he showed me the picture, I said, ‘That’s my brother from Chicago and his kids.’” Read the rest of this entry »

Ever heard of people getting their ID stolen and not discovering it until they get bills in the mail or strange phone calls from collectors. After having a good friend of mine getting his id stolen from the TJ Maxx scandal I heard about lifelock. This is the same service as that commercial I’ve seen with the guy driving around with his social security number on the side of a delivery truck. Read the rest of this entry »

I applaud any man who actually comes up with a creative idea to pop the question. But if you come up with a new idea, don’t screw it up. A London floor installer Lefkos Hajji came up with a good one that flew out of his hands.
The unlucky 28 year-old’s dreams of giving his chosen one, Leanne, 26, the perfect engagement proposal literally vanished into thin air.

The women in the life of Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti will be in for a battle over his 250 million fortune, including any rings I am sure. While the opera superstar’s three adult daughters, who have sided with their mother – Pavarotti’s first wife Adua Veroni following their divorce in 2000, but recently had a rapprochement with their father, have lined up on one side, his second wife Nicoletta Mantovani’s on the other. The man’s dead and has left some goodies behind and now there’s going to a fight for that fortune with the ladies slugging it out to claim the money, that’s the story with all these people. He waiteded for her to return it for 2 years. I think he’s been patient enough.
A Grosse Pointe Park man in Michigan filed a lawsuit in Macomb Circuit Court on September 15th seeking to stop his ex-fiancee from selling the $35,000 engagement ring he gave her in 2001. (I wonder if she realizes she will probably only get about $15,000 for it….. these things don’t resell to consumers very well….) Read the rest of this entry »

Before I even begin telling this story I want to explain one thing. Getting engaged 1 month after dating someone seems a little desperate. Buying an engagement ring that’s over $10,000 for this special someone of a few weeks seems like a bribe. I believe the lady decided being with this guy was not worth keeping a $67,000 diamond ring. It was announced today that Jenna Bush (on right) , 25, is now engaged to marry Henry Hager, 29, her boyfriend of several years.
Do you ever wander if Henry has been tricked by the twin sisters on past dates? I’ve heard of quite a few first hand stories of twins pulling pranks on their dates for entertainment. I’m sure the “Bush” sisters are no different. If pulling off the switch with Henry all Barbara Bush would have to say is, “I did my hair different” and the typical guy would say….. “Oh, that’s what seems different about you today.”
I’m sure we will read a tell all book once the girls hit their 40’s and we will know the truth about the antics the twins pulled on their teachers and boyfriends.
I would love to hear what was said when Henry asked Mr Bush for his daughter’s hand in marriage. It might of gone something like this:

Henry: I have a question to ask you sir.
President: Go ahead and ask.
Henry: Now that I’ve raised 5 million dollars for the next Republican candidate can I have your daighter’s hand in marriage?
President:Which one?
Henry:Jenna…..
President:The one you’ve been dating for all these years……. I think she’s at least worth 8 million in campaign contributions.
Henry: Actually, Mr. President I’ve raised 10 million but only 5 million that can be tracked by the campaign finance committie.
President: I’ve always liked you Henry, sure you can have her hand in marriage.

The clarity of a diamond is influenced by the amount and location of flaws in the diamond when viewed under 10 power (10x) magnification. GIA rates clarity grades in diamonds from Flawless to Imperfect. Most diamonds contain very tiny blemishes known as “inclusions.” An inclusion can interfere with the light passing through the diamond. The fewer the inclusions, the more beautiful the diamond will be. Similar to scrateches on the face of your watch.
Diamonds have the potential of producing more brilliance than any other gem on earth. A diamond that is free of inclusions and surface blemishes is very rare…and therefore very valuable. The most expensive diamond we found online so far is a 13.53 Carat Princess Cut Diamond Engagement Ring VS1. Ironically it was on Ebay.
